1. Introduction & Commitment to User Privacy

Siraj Islam ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Siraj Islam mobile application and platform in Tanzania. We are deeply committed to protecting the privacy, dignity, and digital rights of our Muslim community and all users in accordance with the Tanzania Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2022, the Google Play Developer Policies & Families Policy, and international data protection standards (including GDPR principles).

2. Information We Collect & Why

To provide authentic Islamic lifestyle tools and secure halal commerce, we process the following data:

• Location Data (Coarse & Precise GPS): Used exclusively on-device to calculate exact prayer schedules (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha), determine Kaaba Qibla compass direction, and display nearby mosques in Tanzania. We do not track continuous background routes or sell location logs.
• Account & Verification Information: Full name, phone number (WhatsApp), and email address provided during registration or merchant onboarding.
• Halal Marketplace & Escrow Transaction Data: Shipping addresses, order histories, and verified merchant validation records (TIN/BRELA documents for registered sellers).
• Device Hardware Sensors: Compass magnetometer sensor data utilized strictly in real-time to orient the Qibla pointer.

3. Offline First & Zero Behavioral Tracking

Holy Qur’an surahs, audio recitations, Swahili translations, Hadith collections (Bukhari/Muslim), and morning/evening Adhkar can be saved offline. We do not use predatory third-party advertising trackers or sell your worship data to external ad networks.

4. Marketplace Financial Security & Escrow

Payment processing for the Halal Marketplace complies with Bank of Tanzania digital payment regulations. Customer funds are held in secure escrow trust accounts until package delivery is verified by the buyer. We never store raw credit card numbers or Mobile Money PINs on our servers.

5. Child Data Protection & Safety

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13 for behavioral targeting or commercial profiling. Any minor using educational features is protected under our Child Safety Standards, with zero targeted ads and strict safeguards against Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE).

6. User Rights & Account Deletion

You have full control over your personal data:

• Right to access and review your stored information.
• Right to request immediate account and data deletion at any time.
• Right to disable location permissions and manually select your city (Dar, Zanzibar, Arusha, etc.).
